1) Who we are

RunPal is operated in the UK by the RunPal partnership (Simon Thornton and Andres Narvaez).

2) Eligibility and territory

You must be 13 years or older to use RunPal.

The App is designed primarily for UK users, but visitors/tourists in the UK and UK users temporarily abroad may use the App where doing so is lawful. If you access the App from outside the UK, you do so at your own initiative and must comply with local laws. We may restrict access in some locations.

3) Your account

• Keep your login details confidential; you're responsible for all activity on your account.
• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our community standards.

4) Acceptable use

Don't do anything unlawful, harmful, or that interferes with others' use of the App. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, or discriminate against others;
• Post or share illegal, hateful, violent, pornographic, or misleading content;
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity;
• Use bots, scraping, or other unauthorized automation;
• Probe, scan, or disrupt the App, or attempt to access data you're not allowed to access.

We may remove content or restrict accounts to protect users and the service.

5) Runs, clubs, and messaging

• Users can create, join, and attend runs and clubs. Hosts must provide accurate details (time, distance, pace, location) and are responsible for any restrictions (e.g., private or ladies-only) complying with applicable law.
• Only participants can see and post in a run's group chat.
• We may moderate or remove content that's reported as inappropriate.

6) Safety and medical disclaimer

• Running and exercise carry risks. RunPal is not a medical device and doesn't provide medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional before starting or changing exercise routines, especially if you have medical conditions.
• Meet others sensibly: choose public places and let someone know your plans. Use your judgment with people you don't know.

7) Privacy

Your use of RunPal is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it (including messaging and approximate location). For privacy or data requests, contact support@runpal.live.

8) Intellectual property & your content

The App and all associated IP (branding, UI, code, assets) are owned by the RunPal partnership or our licensors.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit (e.g., run titles, messages, photos). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, use, reproduce, distribute, and display that content only as needed to operate, improve, and provide the App (including backups and features like chat and feeds). We won't use your personal content in external marketing without your additional permission.

You're responsible for your content and must have the rights to share it.

9) Third-party services

We use service providers such as Firebase for hosting, authentication, messaging, analytics/crash reporting. Those providers process data on our behalf as described in the Privacy Policy.

10) Fees, purchases & refunds

• RunPal is currently free.
• If we introduce paid features in the future, all purchases will be processed through the Apple App Store by default, and Apple's billing and refund terms will apply.
• If we ever add other payment methods (e.g., direct billing), we will clearly disclose the applicable payment, cancellation, and refund terms before you buy.

11) Availability, changes, and beta features

• The App may change or be unavailable from time to time. Features (including "beta" or experimental) may be added, modified, or removed.
• We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

12) Ending your account

• You can delete your account in Settings (or by emailing support@runpal.live). Deletion is handled per our Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, to protect users, or for legal/security reasons.

13) Warranty disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind (express or implied) to the fullest extent permitted by law.

14) Limitation of liability

• We're not liable for injuries, accidents, losses, or disputes arising from runs, meet-ups, routes, or user behaviour.
• To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims relating to the App is limited to £50 (or the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim, if greater).
• We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
• Your statutory rights are not affected.

15) App Store terms

If you downloaded RunPal from Apple's App Store, you must also comply with Apple's terms (including the Apple Media Services Terms and Apple's standard EULA). Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for RunPal.

16) Severability & Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

17) Governing law & venue

These Terms and any disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
